Community guidelines

Hextant · Updated September 22, 2026

Hextant is for adults aged 18 or older talking about nearby New York blocks. Be considerate of the people who live and work there.

Do not threaten, harass, target people with hate, share sexual exploitation material, expose another person's private information, impersonate someone, or use Hextant for scams, spam, or illegal activity. Do not post someone's live whereabouts or identifying details without their permission.

Public conversations are visible to eligible nearby readers. Do not share information you would be uncomfortable making public. Direct messages require the recipient to accept, and either participant can end the conversation.

Use the report and block controls when needed. We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these guidelines. When you report something, a copy of the reported text and its author is kept with the report so a moderator can review it after the original expires; the copy is deleted 30 days after the report is resolved, or when its author deletes their account.
